Experience we are seeking
Power network upgrades, grid planning, integration and performance
Water & wastewater treatment, headworks, hydraulic design and optimisation
Civil infrastructure delivery, structural/geotechnical design support
Utility asset planning, maintenance strategy, project delivery support
Spatial data, mapping and engineering inputs for network and site works
Engineering assurance, standards, safety and compliance contributions
What we're looking for
Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
Solid design / delivery / planning experience in utilities, infrastructure, energy or water
Comfortable working on regional project delivery (relocation supported)
Strong communication and stakeholder skills
Ability to provide refs and required checks
Bonus (not essential): power system tools, hydraulic modelling, CAD, GIS, asset systems, standards/compliance experience.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex infrastructure, asset renewal and transformation projects within a large operational environment supporting essential services.
This role is responsible for end-to-end project delivery, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with governance, regulatory and risk frameworks typical of a critical infrastructure organisation.
The Right Candidate
Will deliver complex projects with calm control and sharp comms. And run delivery end-to-end with a strong PMO rhythm—tight planning, clean reporting, and practical issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of major infrastructure and asset-based projects, from initiation through to commissioning and close-out
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resourcing plans and risk registers
- Provide strong stakeholder management across internal operational teams, engineering, vendors, regulators and executive leadership
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, governance and assurance frameworks
- Manage procurement activities including RFPs, contract negotiation and vendor performance
- Report on project performance, milestones, risks and issues using formal governance forums
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery practices and documentation standards
- Mentor and support project team members and junior project managers where required
Skills & Experience
- 7+ years’ experience delivering complex projects in infrastructure, utilities, energy, transport, or large asset-intensive organisations.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary technical teams
- Own scope, schedule, cost and quality for assigned projects
- Manage vendors/contractors and coordinate internal delivery resources
- Maintain RAID, action registers and governance packs
- Drive stakeholder engagement and delivery transparency
- Strong understanding of project governance, risk management and financial controls
- Proven ability to operate in regulated or safety-critical environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level reporting
